Hi, I’m Steph Elliott

I first heard about Elimination Communication (EC), or Baby Pottying as I prefer to call it, years ago in passing. But for some reason it never crossed my mind to try it. Maybe it was the whirlwind of being thrown into parenthood, or simply that I didn’t know anyone else doing it.

Fast forward to 2025: my second son was 10 weeks old when I was reminded of it through watching Katherine Ryan’s experience.

On his very next wake-up I held him over the sink — and he went! It was such a simple, satisfying moment. From then on, I was hooked. The more I discovered, the more convinced I was that this was the way forward.

After experiencing all the wondering aspects of baby pottying myself, I now share what I’ve learned to help other parents discover there’s another way—one that doesn’t rely on nappies alone.

My Philosophy

A drawing of a light bulb with a heart inside, surrounded by sparkles and rays.

I want to help more parents discover baby pottying as a valid option for their family.

Elimination Communication has been practised around the world for generations, yet many parents in the UK have never heard of it.

I want to:

  1. Make EC visible.

  2. Help families succeed with it.

My Approach

It's important that parents have access to balanced, evidence-led information without pressure or judgement.

My goal is simply to help parents understand their options.

Correct the misconceptions.

And make informed decisions that feel right for them.

What I’m Building

A hammer and a screwdriver crossed over a small wooden block.

My aim is to create the UK's leading educational platform for baby pottying.

Bringing together guidance, expert knowledge and evidence-based information in one place.
