Reusable (Cloth) Nappy Incentive Schemes in the UK

Did you know that lots of UK councils will actually pay you to try reusable nappies?

There are cloth nappy vouchers, cash back schemes and free trial packs available from local authorities across England, London, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Disposable nappy waste is a huge problem for councils. They are the biggest single contributor to household waste, making up 2–3% of all waste.¹ These reusable nappy schemes are designed to help families save money, cut waste and make the switch from disposable nappies a lot easier.

In this guide, I’ve rounded up the current real nappy offers by council, plus a nationwide incentive from The Nappy Lady for parents-to-be and babies under six months.

Scotland Local Authorities

Wales Local Authorities

Council schemes are always evolving, it’s worth checking your own local authority’s website too – there might be a new reusable nappy discount that isn’t listed below.

The Nappy Lady also offers a nationwide incentive scheme, regardless if your council does or does not offer a scheme parents to be (or babies under 6 months old) can apply. View more info here.
